Day of Hope

The National day of hope is staged on the birth date of Damilola Taylor every December 7th. The date was officially recognised by Prime Minister Boris Johnston in 2019 as part of the 20th anniversary

It is a day of youth social action and celebration of the kind of young person Damilola represented and will see the biggest ever day of youth social action staged on December 7th 2023 when a giant mural of Damilola is unveiled on the side of Peckham Library.

UK Youth and NCS will be working together with the ,I Will campaign to produce an event entirely led by young people which will also herald the launch of the REIMAGINED manifesto.

The Violence reduction units will stage mini events around their regions while events will be staged in every Onside Zone
